My name is Patrick and most recently I was a game developer for Amaya (the parent company of pokerstars.com), where I wrote online casino software. I'm working on a personal project, a JavaScript-based peer-to-peer poker game that uses Bitcoin (including testnet3), for betting. It has been nearly two years since lawmakers in the state gave the green light for the establishment of online poker in the state and it was anticipated that the online gaming vertical would be among the first of the online gaming offerings to go live. Now, a lot of questions are being raised with regards to the state’s online poker industry.

I've listed this article for peer review because I see it as a potential candidate for a GA. I'd really appreciate a great copyediting and some general ideas to improve the article (I can deal with the specifics). Thanks in advance, -- Atalk/contribs 17:24, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

- The first time a country is mentioned its proper name should be written. UK → United Kingdom.

- Remain consistent. Either use USA or U.S.

- The citation in the 'Track listings' section seems odd and out of place. Also, maybe catalog numbers could be added to the section?

- Publishing information should be added to citations.
- Done wherever possible. --Legolas(talk2me) 10:05, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- The line '..the rest of the European countries' in the lead seems awkward. Which European countries?
- Done. Changed to many other European countries. --Legolas(talk2me) 10:05, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- For such a popular song there should be many more critical reviews. Were all the reviews positive? If there are some negative reviews I would add them to the article for balance.
- Done. Though all the RS had the song as mostly positive. Only negative review I found was at Digital Spy and Sputnikmusic but they were removed as not noteworthy.--Legolas(talk2me) 09:48, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I have the article a clean up, but the following references need replacing because there are unreliable sources.

Also, this is interscope.com, not lady gaga.com as mislabeled in the references section

- I don't think the countries in the lead should be linked, they are to common geographical places.
- The composition section dosen't seem to be correct in some parts. The sheet have it in common time not compound
- The metronome is the instrument that measures the beats. I believe the correct word is tempo.
- The song is written in the key of A minor, 'which is typically used in songs with dark undertones', do you have a source for this.
- The next part: The song begins with a medium tempo followed by electronic chord arrangement and drums which anticipates the lyrics to follow. The opening chords and the melody emphasize the tonic of the leading notes: Am---F♭---G♭---Am---F♭-G♭. This is followed by the sound of dance music, produced by a powerful beat from the instruments and a stuttering hook following the chorus, seems like a copy of the composition section of the 'Papa Don't Preach' article. The sheet music dosen't have this, so this fails under original reaserch.
- In the sample you wrote 'which plays the chorus, where Gaga's voice spans from G3 to C5', how do you know her voice spans that range in the chorus, according to the sheet music that range is for the entire song not only the chorus.
- Online magazines and reviewers like Allmusic and Popmatters don't go italicised.
- This sentence: Gaga became the first artist since Madonna's 2006 single 'Sorry', I think is odd, it sounds like Sorry is the artist.
- You have to be consisted with the numbers in the chart performance, for example you have: debuted at number thirty and the song debuted at number 41, choose only one format.
- The countries listed for Europe should be in alphabeticall order.
- I think the succession boxes are too long, it should be trimed down. There is no need to have every chart listed.
- I don't know if this is a requierement for GA, but the references need to be corrected. Many of them have the wrong names, for example 'Lady Gaga throws off Silbermond from the top', I couldn't find it in the article, the correct one is 'Swiss Singles Top 100: Issue Date: Sunday March 15th, 2009.
- Some of the publishers are incorrect too, for example the BBC is not the publisher for the UK Singles Chart, is the The Official Charts Company.
- Done--Legolas(talk2me) 06:42, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
The formatting of references is quite shaky. Dates should be (October 25, 2008) for the publishing date and 'Retrieved on October 25, 2008' for the retrieve date. Check to the italics on publishers. Websites, news channels usually aren't in italics. Magazines, newspapers, books usually are. You also need to remove the image of her performing life. Absolutely no fair use rational would be sufficient to support that particular image of a living person. — R2 09:43, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

An editorial glimpse at licensed Pennsylvania online poker following the November 2019 launch of PokerStars PA. What’s next for regulated online poker in the Keystone State?
Pennsylvania Online Poker “Month 1” Observations (Introduction)
EARLIER THIS MONTH, Pennsylvania regulators granted permission to Mount Airy Casino to launch real money online poker games, resulting in PokerStars PA becoming the first-ever licensed internet poker gaming platform in the Keystone State.
OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS, Part Time Poker has kept a close eye on the incoming Keystone State online poker market along with proposed legislation in separate jurisdictions, publishing a number of in-depth stories that cover a wide range of regulatory topics that relate to licensed internet peer-to-peer gambling within the United States and the United Kingdom.
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s signature authorizing Act 42 of 2017 has granted a number of analysts who cover the regulated iGaming industry (including myself) a unique opportunity to gain a more complete understanding of how the modern-day online poker business revolves around public-interest lawmaking, corporate compliance, responsible gaming initiatives, taxable gaming revenue, job creation, specialized training, cross-vertical marketing, priority mobile access, and ring-fenced regulatory governance.
Pennsylvania Online Poker “Month 1” Observations
Following are my own thoughts (unless otherwise specified) on the inaugural Pennsylvania online poker market, and how it may impact real money internet peer-to-peer casino gambling in years to come.
U.S. FEDERAL WIRE ACT COMPLIANCE
In January, the USDOJ Office of Legal Counsel publicly released its revised opinion on the 1961 Federal Wire Act. This immediately prompted PGCB Executive Director Kevin O’Toole to issue a memorandum to Pennsylvania casinos — informing them of the commonwealth’s “intrastate” iGaming designation, that the new opinion “places significant restrictions on the future conduct of internet-based gaming,” and to “ensure that you are in compliance with the Department of Justice’s interpretation of the Wire Act.”
The Board’s formal authorization of Mount Airy’s online poker platform (provided by “PokerStars PA”) leads one to conclude that state regulators have determined that its real money peer-to-peer product sufficiently satisfies Wire Act compliance guidelines as a sole-state service. The Keystone State’s regulatory prudence in guaranteeing that online poker players will not be allowed to compete against peers who are physically located across state lines (at least not until there is a clarification of federal law) also lends credibility to the state’s ongoing commitment to cracking down on illegal gambling — which could theoretically extend to offshore operators now that regulated interactive gaming has officially launched in the state.

REGIONAL MARKET FOCUS BENEFITS
Pennsylvania’s sole-state interactive gaming designation has enabled the world’s largest poker site to benefit from a partial marketing reset within the Keystone State. PokerStars’ controversial refusal to honor previously-marketed cashback incentives to high volume dot-com players four years ago resulted in undeniable backlash from veteran online poker players, media representatives, forum contributors, and many of the company’s own Team Pro personalities.
Nonetheless, the commonwealth’s commercial iGaming isolation from “shared liquidity” infrastructures (such as the MSIGA compact between New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware) has allotted the Keystone State’s online poker customer base a necessary reprieve from long-held editorial grudges. This in turn has enabled PA online poker patrons and fans to focus on what is vitally important in the here and now: the education, evaluation, and enjoyment of licensed real money games among peers who share a common, virtually-located geographical border.

OPEN COMMUNICATION AMONG PLAYERS
Peer-to-peer Network
Following a disappointing waiting period that extended from July 15th until November, online poker players in the Keystone State are now sharing their experiences and troubleshooting some of the minor issues that colleagues are facing on the new PokerStars Pennsylvania site.
DISCUSS NOW:Unofficial PokerStars PA Feedback Thread (2+2 Internet Poker sub-forum)
Much of the reported confusion revolves around not being able to download the client, or log-on and participate in real money games from outside the commonwealth. There have also been player complaints that customer service response time is currently very slow and that bonus releases require an enormous amount of volume in order to be credited to a player’s account.

PA CAN SUPPORT AT LEAST ONE ONLINE POKER OPERATOR
Online Peer To Peer Poker Sites
Although there weren’t any formal projections about how Pennsylvania online poker would perform upon launch, the fact that over 2,000 concurrent players are enjoying online poker games in real time is extremely encouraging, and would seemingly place PokerStars PA as the leading online poker site that currently operates in the regulated U.S. market — positioned to provide a (relatively) high-traffic service to the commonwealth’s residents and tourists.
However, it is unknown whether the ring-fenced Keystone State online poker market can support two, or even three operators without first linking to other states that have legalized online peer-to-peer gambling such as New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware. At what point will Valley Forge (partypoker) and Harrah’s (888/WSOP) come on board? And what impact will that have on current PokerStars PA traffic for cash games and tournaments? These are just a couple of questions that Pennsylvania online poker players may find answers to in Q1-2020.

EXTERNAL MARKETING AND AFFILIATE LINKS ON HOLD
As demonstrated in a PGCB meeting from a year ago, Pennsylvania regulators control all aspects of marketing for licensed land-based and internet casinos within the commonwealth. So far, there hasn’t been any authorization for approved affiliates to compete via links and advertising, but this is likely part of the Keystone State’s immediate focus on site-wide operations that directly affect players.
Once affiliate-tracked online marketing becomes a reality, it will be interesting to see if content is widely varied among competing sites or whether sign-up communications will be mostly template-based.
For the time being, Pennsylvania online poker players can sign-up directly by following the link provided by PokerStars’ official Twitter account.
